Karibe Botanica Series

A collection of colored pencil and ink botanical drawings of Caribbean plants superimposed with body field drawings. Body field drawings are a personal practice in my herbalism studies for each plant. The body fields of each plant considers the healing and metaphysical qualities of it in relationship to the body and mind. Each drawing has a collection of seeds from the plant as to incorporate practices related to conservation and education. This series centers the practice of relationship building with plants and centering indigenous knowledge of the plants. I include the indigenous name of the plant, if available, named by the Arawak-Taino of the Caribbean.

All drawings are colored pencil and ink on stonehenge paper 16" x 22"
